Create clone snapshots

Clone copy sessions enable you to create clone copies of a source volume or storage group on multiple targets.

Prerequisites

The create operation sets the target volume to Not Ready for a short time. If you are using a file system, unmount the target host before performing the create operation.
See Roles and associated permissions to determine the user roles that can perform this task.

To create clone snapshots:

Select the storage system.
Select Data Protection > Device Groups.
Click the TimeFinder Clone tab to open the TimeFinder Clone list view.
Do the following, depending on whether you want to perform the operation at the group level or pair level:
Group level:
1. Select a group, click , and select Create Snapshot.
2. Select the source type and the target type.
Pair level:
1. Select a group and click to open its Details view.
2. Click the number next to Clone Pairs.
3. Select one or more pairs, click , and select Create Snapshot.
4. Select the source type and the target type.
Specify whether to perform an Incremental or Full create.
Optional: To attach session options to the operation, click Advanced Options, and select any number of options.
Do one of the following:
- Click Run Now to perform the operation now.
- Expand Run Now, and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
